LIVE On-Air from the studio of WNAH 1360 AM ... Jeremiah's Gospel Music Show
Monday, March 14, 2005, Sue, myself, Dan and Jeremiah toured downtown Nashville and the Music Row District. We attended The Ryman Auditorium where we saw a film on its history and restoration, and watched the technicians setting up the staging area, as George Jones appeared the night before and Kenny Rogers was appearing this night. We took in all the ambience the Ryman has to offer complete with viewing of costumes of the early 'stars'. We had our photo taken with the bronze statues of Roy Acuff & Minnie Pearl. It cost $100,000 to build the Ryman and $8.3 million to restore it. It is second only to the Mormon Tabernacle for its acoustical brilliance and ability. If you dropped a dime on the stage floor, one sitting in the balcony back rows could actually count all the bounces the dime would take before coming to a stop.
Sue & I then went on to Opryland Hotel and were overwhelmed with its magnificent beauty and overall size.
On Monday night (6PM-8PM), at the studio of WNAH on Jeremiah's Gospel Show I was a featured guest and performed 4 songs "live on-air" which was broadcast over the station's immediate listening zone of middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky and over the world wide web through Living Word Radio. Hoyt Carter of WNAH, Jeremiah Herrera of Cowboy Country & Gospel Music Association (CCGMA) and Dan Blackstock, co-producer of Higher Power Productions, along with my wife Suzanne and myself attended the studio. I sang I Saw A Man, my own original LORD, I Am Not Worthy, Will The Circle Be Unbroken and I Saw The Light. We received calls from Pat in Atlanta, GA., Tom in Springfield, Ill., Suzi from the Island of Kauai, Hawaii and calls from other points in the U.S.A. and Canada. Thanks for all your support and words of encouragement.
Tuesday, March 15, 2005 we joined Dan and Jeremiah and again we toured around the Music Row District. We attended to the offices of BMI.
Sue & I went over to the Opry Mills Mall where we toured around and stopped in at the Gibson Facility where I was able to enjoy their banjos, mandolins and guitars that are built right on site, and then on to RCC Western Stores where I purchased a new western cut suit jacket to wear for stage productions and a show I have coming up in April in South Mountain Ontario Canada, dubbed ... The Man In Black Tour with Randy Kay, a special tribute show I do in honor to MrCa$h.
Wednesday, March 16, 2005 we invited Paul Richey and his assistant, Kevin, for breakfast at "CrackerBarrel".
We then toured Brentwood and Franklin Tennessee.
We took a tour of "The Hermitage" ... President Andrew Jackson's farm. He was known as 'Old Hickory' and was a fiesty man. The original home and some of the outbuildings have been restored thanks to the efforts of The Ladies Hermitage Society.
We then went to the gravesite of Johnny & June Cash as well as to Mother Maybelle's, Ezra's, Anita's, Ray & Carrie Rivers Cash (Johnny's parents) and to Luther Perkins in Hendersonville. We said prayers to their honour and memories.
We went to 200 Caudill Drive, Hendersonville, home to Johnny&June.
Then over to The House Of Cash business offices, Hendersonville, which have been closed. There is a train station there, Amqui, which I believe Mr.Cash bought for Miss June, to be operated as an antique store etc etc.
To top off the day, we went to Center Point B-B-Q, Hendersonville, where Mr. Cash and other stars would go for a fabulous one of a kind B-B-Q.
