I have spent a lot of time on the road behind the 'wheel' and lookin' through a windshield.  I grew up in a 'transport family', and  I have worked very hard.  I owned my own small trucking business, I also had a large paper route as a kid, shoveled snow off driveways and picked fruit from time to time to earn extra money.

My wife's name is Suzanne (Suzie) ... and our dog is DUCHESS ...
... and our horses are DIXIE (TB mare) & MOJO (STNDBRD Trotter gelding)

I enjoy the outdoors ... fishin', cuttin' wood, nature and just bein' outside at any time of the day or night.  Suzanne and I feed the chickadees right out of our hands while we are out walkin' with our dog, Duchess, on our way down the old abandoned railbed behind our home that goes down to the lake.  Many's a time we see deer, birds of all kinds, racoons, squirrels and black bears ... and coyotes.

Suzie and I are both certified 'Horse Handlers & Grooms' and 'Ontario Racing Commission' (ORC) licensed and currently have our new ranch up & going.  It is called "DIXIELAND Ranch (CANADA)".  We will offer a 'forever home' to horses, in particular, and dogs and critters of all kinds that need a good home.

Right now we have 1 Thoroughbred mare we named DIXIE that was gently raced at Fort Erie Race Track.  We took her on when she was a filly 4 years old comin' on 5 years old.  She is now 15 (2023).  We also have 1 Standardbred Trotter we named MOJO.  We took him on as a yearling and began conditioning at a race training facility in Smithville Ontario CANADA.  He showed signs of issue in a rear hock so we decided he was not going to continue on as a race horse.  He is now 11 (2023).

I study Equine Podiatry which is the combination of veterinary & farrier sciences ... and have completed my Advanced Trimming courses. We trim our own horses hooves.

It's the old adage "NO HOOF ... NO HORSE!"

Music is a tonic to me and a language all unto its own.  I thank GOD Almighty above for this and the many other  great gifts HE has bestowed upon me.

I grew up the oldest in a family of eight kids, it sure was a happy houseful.  I was raised in a small town ... Stoney Creek, Ontario ... well, at least it was then.  We went to church on Sundays and suppertime was special on that day.  Mom usually always stopped by the dairy on our way back home to get milk, in glass jugs I might add, and ice cream to go with that supper.  I sure wish kids today could experience that ... mother made everything for us kids including a lot of our clothing.

Speakin' of kids, I tithe all my music endeavors and give it to an orphanage overseas in the UKRAINE ... they sure do need a lot of help.

For 2023 ... Suzie and I are now looking to build another new show and looking for players.  We have agents and folks asking to book us again ... we always deliver a show to venues to give them 'more than their monies worth' ... and more!

Suzie & I are members of the "Rockabilly Hall of Fame"

My birthday is April 1.  Suzie's is Jan 7.

I grew up in southern Ontario but now reside on our 68.5 acre ranch as we call it ...  in between the small rural villages of Tweed & Madoc Ontario.

Lately (2023), we have talked a lot about returning back somewhere in Southern or South-Western Ontario ... and of course with DIXIE & MOJO.

I've lived in Alberta, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and many places around Ontario.

I have been fortunate and blessed to travel much of this great country of ours.  CANADA  ... there is no other place like it, and I am very proud to be "CANADIAN".  GOD Bless the Maple Leaf and may she fly ... forever.

GOD Bless the  UNITED  STATES  of  AMERICA as she searches for the ones responsible for  911!

Thanks for stoppin' by and I sure hope you will come by again or maybe out to a performance.  If ya' do, please come and say "hello", I'd sure be happy to talk with you ... and mention ya saw this on one of our  websites.

Randy Kay is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, banjo, dobro, mandolin, piano) player & vocalist in Traditional Country, Rockabilly, Bluegrass, Blues and Gospel in those genres ... primarily a lead rhythm  guitar player and vocalist.

Born in Stoney Creek Ontario Canada, April 1, 1953, Randy grew up listening to country music as introduced by both his parents, Lefty (Bernard) & Anne Kay.

He went to his first live concert, March 1965, at the O'Keefe Center (now the Hummingbird) in Toronto, Ontario to see Johnny Cash, the Tennessee Three (Luther Perkins, Marshall Grant & W.S. "Fluke" Holland), Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters (June, Helen and Anita), Carl Perkins, Tex Ritter and Loretta Lynn.

After the show, his dad, Lefty, slipped the door attendant either a $10 or $20 bill ... and Lefty and the kids, Randy, Patricia, Danny, Paul, Donna Jean & Kathy were let in the back door ... then it was relocked.

The family met Johnny Cash and some of the show's entertainers and had albums autographed ... Lefty & Johnny Cash were like 2 long lost brothers havin' a real good talk.

Maybe Johnny Cash thought about his own kids ...

When it came time to leave, the people were stacked at the rear door like chord wood with faces and hands pressed up against the glass and they watched us inside. The door opened and dad had all us kids huddle around him. Johnny Cash could see that dad was trying to get thru the crowd. Mr CASH, walked over and led out his hand and said "there's a path right thru there". The crowd parted like the Red Sea ... it was magical, unbelievable.

That night we hardly slept.

Those memories are as vivid today as they were that awesome night.
